Young women's athletics has come a long way in the past twenty-five years and St. Teresa's has led the way. The Academy's athletic teams in basketball, soccer, volleyball, cross country, golf, track, softball, swimming, tennis and dance team commomly are top competitors at district, sectional and state finals. The school ranks among the top ten nonpublic schools in the number of times it has made it to the final four Missouri state championships.

In addition, the Academy has one of the most active intramural programs of any of the independent schools in the area. Each year hundreds of students participate in organized leagues in kickball, ping pong, volleyball and badminton. Both the athletic and intramural programs are led by a full-time professional staff who understands that learning how to compete as a team is central to instilling valuable leadership qualities.
